Attention, Nottingham geeks! Comics will be omnipresent in your area on the 5th October!
The inaugural Nerd Fest will be held at the Britannia Hotel on Saturday 5th October; the first of its kind to be held in Nottingham. Featuring the UK’s emerging comic talent alongside true legends of the game, it’s a great chance for the geek community to get together, read some books, watch some bands and have a fine time.
There’ll be 70 tables’ worth of exhibitors flogging their wares with plenty of stuff on show and for sale, and guest artists including Gary Erskine, Steve Beckett and Lee Sullivan – talented people, all – plus Garen Ewing, whose latest book The Rainbow Orchid has been nominated for a British Comic Award! If you fancy picking up a caricature then Nerd Fest has also acquired the services of Paul Holmes, who will be doing two one-hour sessions during the day, to add a touch of geeky splendour to your day. Check out the Nerd Fest blog to find out which titles will be making their debut at the event.
Tabletop gaming geeks will also be pleased to see that Mantic Games will be on hand to help out anyone who’s thinking of setting up some gaming sessions with friends, as well as showing off their range of Mars Attacks! figures.
As if all this weren’t enough, there’ll be live music from four distinguished local acts for your pleasure!
Nerd Fest will also be raising money for charity by donating part of their ticket prices to some very worthy causes, as well as through an auction and raffle which will allow everyone the chance to get their hands on some unmissable memorabilia.
Bands, comics, cosplay – and did we mention the Roller Girls? All reasons why Nerd Fest in Nottingham is an event not to be missed! Tickets are on sale now – check out http://nerdfestcomiccon.com for more information, and follow the guys on Twitter @nerdfestcc for all the latest updates.
